What is a witch?
According to dictionary.com:
1. a person, now esp. a woman, who professes or is supposed to practice magic, esp. black magic or the black art; sorceress. Compare warlock.
2. an ugly or mean old woman; hag: the old witch who used to own this building.
3. a person who uses a divining rod; dowser.

Today we have a different viewpoint upon who and what witches are, the traditional picture of an old crone engrossed in stirring her cauldron has long gone, nowadays when we think witch it is often of a young woman, in the prime of her powers, a charmed one from so many entertainment shows. Of course the traditional witch of legend still has her place in our hearts and minds but today's witch can be as versatile as anyone. She can be either man or woman, or perhaps both, she can perform magick spells or just follow the lifestyle of "do no harm". Witches are as diverse as fortune 500 executives to tarot readers in local metaphysical stores.
